Financial processes rarely complete in seconds. Mortgage applications, loan approvals and compliance reviews often span days or weeks, involve multiple systems and require human intervention throughout their lifecycle.

This session explores the architectural challenges of implementing long-running financial workflows and presents a mortgage application journey as a practical case study. We examine common failure scenarios including service outages, delayed human approvals, duplicate requests and infrastructure changes during execution. The discussion focuses on architectural patterns that improve reliability, auditability and operational resilience while reducing the complexity of bespoke state management.

Attendees will leave with practical insights into designing durable business processes that can withstand the realities of modern financial systems and regulatory environments.
